FAQs
Common questions about Tax & Compliance.
GST registration is mandatory if your aggregate turnover exceeds ₹40 lakh (goods) or ₹20 lakh (services) in a financial year. Voluntary registration is advisable even below these thresholds if you supply to GST-registered businesses, as it allows input tax credit claims. Certain categories must register regardless of turnover — including e-commerce operators and inter-state suppliers.
TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) is a withholding tax where the payer deducts tax at the time of payment and deposits it with the government. If your business makes payments such as salary, rent, professional fees, or contractor payments above specified thresholds, you must deduct TDS, file quarterly returns, and issue Form 16/16A. Non-compliance attracts interest and penalties.
A tax audit under Section 44AB is mandatory if your business turnover exceeds ₹1 crore (₹10 crore if 95% transactions are digital) or professional gross receipts exceed ₹50 lakh. Taxpayers opting out of the presumptive taxation scheme may also be required to get a tax audit. The audit report must be filed by October 31 of the assessment year.
For individuals: PAN, Aadhaar, Form 16, bank statements, details of other income (interest, rent, capital gains), and investment proofs. For businesses: audited financial statements, GST returns, TDS certificates, loan details, and depreciation workings. We send you a tailored document checklist specific to your situation after the initial call.
Do not ignore any tax notice — non-response can lead to best-judgement assessments, penalties, and in serious cases, prosecution. The nature of the notice (intimation, scrutiny, show cause, or demand) determines the response strategy. We review the notice, prepare the reply, and represent you before the assessing officer if a personal hearing is required.
Advance tax applies when your estimated tax liability for the year exceeds ₹10,000. It is payable in four installments: 15% by June 15, 45% by September 15, 75% by December 15, and 100% by March 15. Non-payment or underpayment attracts interest under Sections 234B and 234C. We compute your advance tax and remind you before each due date.
All Private Limited Companies and LLPs must file annual returns and financial statements with the Registrar of Companies through the MCA portal. Key filings include Form AOC-4 (financials), Form MGT-7 (annual return), and event-based forms. Late filing attracts significant per-day penalties. We manage the entire annual compliance calendar on your behalf.
Yes. Many of our clients are promoters or directors with both personal ITR and business compliance needs. We handle both under a combined engagement, ensuring consistency between personal and business filings and avoiding the confusion of working with multiple advisors.
A tax audit verifies that your income and deductions have been computed correctly for tax purposes. A statutory audit examines the financial statements to certify they present a true and fair view of the company's financial position. Both may be required simultaneously for companies above the threshold.
Never miss a deadline again.
